Community Contributions – Cardiac Care – GO TO YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS The John I. Crecco Foundation has contributed over one million dollars to area hospitals for the purpose of advancing cardiac care. The Foundation has also played a major role in the construction and creation of the telemetry unit at Columbus Hospital in Newark and the Green Room at Newark Beth Israel Hospital. Mountainside Hospital, Montclair Purchase of a Telemetry Monitoring System for the Hospital's Heart Failure Center. The work done in this cardiac care unit will, among other benefits, help reduce the patients' time in the hospital.   Columbus Hospital, Newark Financing for a Telemetry System that can monitor up to thirty cardiac patients at one time. Bloomfield Police Department Purchase of six defibrillators for police cars.   Bloomfield Emergency Squad - Donated Defibrillator and mannequin for teaching The "Resusciann" for CPR courses. Sponsored the MIT Course Bloomfield Fire Department Purchased the "Resusciann" for CPR Courses. Donated "Pluggie the Robot" to teach fire safety in all the schools. Deborah Heart and Lung Center Audio Visual Equipment. Three additional defibrilators were donated November 2010. Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark Sponsorship of an infection free "Green" operating room. Prior to this many hip replacement patients would contract infections during surgery causing extensive hospital stays, and in some cases, even death.   Clara Maass Memorial Hospital, Belleville Cardiac Equipment. Hackensack Hospital Donation of $5,000.00 to the Cysticfrosis Clinic Educational Program Ambulatory Equipment.   Tri County Memorial Hospital, Newark Funding for a Mobile Cardiac intensive care unit. Saint Michael’s Medical Center, Newark, NJ Sponsorship of a Ventricular Bypass machine for open heart surgery. The foundation has also been a major contributor to the Salvation Army, Italian Eathquake relief donations, City of Hope, Bloomfield Little League Baseball Teams, The March of Dimes, Leukemia Society and Ethiopian Child Hunger. Bishop Francis receives a $29k check for Ethiopian Child Hunger.
